Quick back story. I am one of the main managers at one of the coolers here in town. My wife has been a stay at home mom for the past 13 years, now that our 3 kids are older and able to take care of their basic needs, my wife decided she wanted to get a little part time job to earn some extra cash. There was an opening at the cooler, she applied and got hired. She’s been working here for almost 6 months, her performance isn’t up to standards. The other supervisors have noted that as well. Not that she’s lazy or anything but she just hasn’t got the routine down yet. Well here’s the problem… our company is having budget cuts and we need to let go of at least 2 employees, and her name was brought up. Bottom line is that I had to be the one to fire her. I’m so stressed out, I obviously didn’t want to do it, because she’s my wife. I did everything in my power to convince our bosses to keep her. She thinks I didn’t stick up for her. How do we get past this? (email your situation to: listeners@957thebeatfm.com)
