Pet of the Week: Homer!

Meet Homer, a one year old, possible Anatolian Shepherd mix, who was rescued from a eradicated marijuana operation. Homer is an amazing dog! He is strikingly handsome, big and goofy, still very much a puppy at heart. He also considers himself to be a lap dog. Due to the circumstances of their living conditions we believe that Homer did not have much in the way of socialization. Shelter staff and volunteers have helped him gain confidence and have fallen head over heels for this big boy. Homer is a little shy at first but within minutes wants to get some cuddles. He is learning about other dogs and did great on his first multi dog walk. Homer would probably enjoy a home with space to move about, someone to help him build confidence, and a place where he can be a part of the family. He is currently available for adoption at the Santa Maria Animal Center at 548 West Foster Road in Santa Maria. After adoption, regular visits to That’s FETCH for special attention would be the perfect field trip to help him learn.
