Hello 95.7 The Beat! Hi, big fan here! So My ex husband is going to be moving to Paso Robles at the start of 2020. Why do I care right? Well I don’t, but I do! We both currently live in Solvang. And the reason I care is because while we were married we had a dog. We adopted the dog as a couple, but he is under my ex husband’s name. So although it’s our dog, it is technically by law, his dog. Well this dog has been in my life even after our divorce. So a total of 7 years. We’ve been divorced for 2 years and we share custody like if he was our child. I get our dog every other week. Well now that he’s moving he is taking the dog with him and he wants to cut ties because he says it’s too much of a hassle to go back and forth sharing our dog. I am devastated and there’s really nothing I can do since it’s in his name. I would like to get some advice from couples who’ve split and shared pets. Should I just come to the idea that I have lost my dog to my ex. or is there anything that I can do to continue to at least have a few days a month with him. I appreciate everyone’s advice! I am truly heartbroken. (email your situation to listeners@957thebeatfm.com)
