Well here I am writing in to talk about my situation. I’m a 27 year old woman in a relationship with my boyfriend who is also 27. My boyfriend’s parents are very political. All they talk about is Trump and building the wall. I’ve gone over to their house a few times and I feel so uncomfortable because they always ask me my opinion on political and social topics that I don’t want to talk about, at least not with them. They are very stubborn and judgmental. I just want to have a relationship with them the way my boyfriend has a relationship with my family. Well my parents want to meet his parents. The thing is that my dad was an OG cholo back in the day. He’s heavily tattooed and he still looks like an OG but despite that. he’s a successful business owner. He owns his own construction company and he’s invested a lot into real estate and properties.
I’ve hesitated to have my parents meet my boyfriend’s parents. My parents really love my boyfriend BUT his parents are something else and he knows it too. Both me and my boyfriend have agreed that if the 2 families meet they are probably going to end up not liking each other and it will start problems between us. My dad is very persistent in meeting his parents but I’m so stressed of what might happen. What should we do? We can’t prevent them from meeting if we one day decide to get married. Help!
