So me and my sister live with our parents she is 19 years old and she has been dating her 21 year old boyfriend for about 2 years now. She has had a crush on this guy since she was 14. Our family has known him for a very long time now because he is a friend of one of our cousins. He is not mean to my sister per say but he has other major flaws. He comes often and sleeps over at the house and literally doesn’t do anything. He has no ambition all he does is goes to the gym and plays video games all day. He is very arrogant and thinks he knows better than anyone else. My sister has always been organized punctual and neat and now he is affecting her in different ways. He is always late and now my sister is 2 hours late to everything. She bought her own Christmas gift “on his behalf” and opened it up on the 28th in her room by herself when he wasn’t around claiming that he was too tired from going to the gym to come over. He always says things like are you gonna leave for one of your guy friends and makes her promise she won’t. She even accused her for leaving him for his sister because she was staring at a picture of her for “way too long” and he himself was in the pic?! I don’t know man he says its his anxiety and doesn’t know how to cope with it but I just feel its an excuse. My sister and him talk about how they will eventually get married and have kids. Just the thought of that alone is making my mom physically sick! my mom has nightmares literal nightmares of them getting married. I also get like a knot in my stomach when I hear this. Is there anything I or we can do to help my sister out and hopefully discourage her from still seeing this dude? what do you guys think?
