I turned 30 last week. I wasn’t excited about the milestone and told my boyfriend and family that I DID NOT want any kind of celebration. Well, this weekend, my BF and I went out to dinner and when we got back to his place, they’d thrown a surprise party for me with more than 30 people there. I did my best to fake being happy about the celebration, but as soon as it was over, my BF and I got into a huge fight. I’m mad that he didn’t respect my wish to not celebrate and he thinks I’m being ungrateful and he’s now acting bothered and upset. Am I right for being upset or is he right that I’m being ungrateful?
