Situation 805: “Why is there so much pressure to date?”

header-3-copy-3-1520521093

What’s with all the pressure to date someone and be in a relationship? I’m 26, just out of college, and working my ass off to make something of myself. That’s literally all I care about. Still, everyone, from my family to friends, are constantly on my ass about who I’m dating, why I’m not dating, and what’s wrong with me. It’s really starting to get on my nerves. I’m even being asked seriously if I’m gay…which…duh…if I’m not dating, that means I’m not dating dudes, either. What’s with the stigma that goes with having no interest in the dating scene right now? I’m sure I will get to that point eventually, but right now I want to work and build myself professionally. Why is that so hard for people to grasp, understand, and accept?
