Hi guys good morning I hope you guys can read my situation before the 4th of July weekend. Okay here I go… so every year my husband’s family comes to our house to spend 4th of July. Our house is nice and roomy so it just makes sense for everyone to come over. It’s fun and everything but it’s a lot of hard work getting our place ready for guests to come over, buying all the groceries and stuff needed, and then the after math of cleaning! Well this year I don’t want to have the party be at our house. I have to work the 5th! I don’t get a 4 day weekend. So I told my husband that we should just keep it low key this year. Maybe a bbq with just us 2 and our 2 teenage kids. As expected everyone hated the idea. But I explained to everyone that I just don’t want to go through all the hassle especially since I do have to work the following day. My husband and his family still want to have the bbq festivities at our place. He said that they would all chip in and help with the prepping and cleaning which I sure they will, but it’s not the same! I like things cleaned and done a certain way. Am I being a “Debby Downer” by not wanting to have the party at our place? Or should I just suck it up and hope that everyone does their part. Help! I know it’s not a life or death situation, I’m just expressing my frustration and hope that the listeners can give me some advice or perhaps some kind of compromise. Thank you and happy 4th of July everyone! (email your situation to: listers@957thebeatfm.com)
