A Canadian customs agent probably got his “ash” kicked by higher-ups after he detained a passenger on suspicion of carrying a large bag of designer drugs……..which turned out to be the cremated remains of the traveler’s friend. Russell Laight was trying to fly to England with his friend’s ashes, but when he came to a security checkpoint in Newfoundland, an agent searching his luggage said that a clear baggie was filled with ketamine and ordered Laight to be taken into custody. He spent five days in jail before a Montreal lab returned results that confirmed the bag was filled with what was left of Simon Darby — not DRUGS. Laight was freed over the weekend and expects to have the ashes returned this week.WHO TRAINS THESE PEOPLE???
