In Ohio, a high school student named Trey Potter showed his mom how much he appreciated her by taking her to her first prom.
You see Melissa Roshan Potter – or MelRo – has had a very rough life. She grew up in 23 foster care homes – and was pregnant and homeless when she was just 16-years-old.
Well, she persevered and was able to raise Trey.
So while most teenagers want to stay as far away from their parents as possible – especially on prom night – Trey wanted to take MelRo along as his date. It’s a dream he’s had since he was just 12 years old and a very special way to show just how much he appreciates all she’s sacrificed to make his life easier than hers was.
