A Florida man has a lot of people saying he should get the chair — for assaulting an elderly woman because she wouldn’t move from a city park chair that he claimed he’d “reserved.”Bruce Benard allegedly walked up to the 72-year-old stranger in Spanish Springs Town Square and confronted her about sitting in seats he had reserved for his friends and family. He demanded that she move before threatening to throw her off the chair — and when she didn’t respond quickly enough, he grabbed her wrist and twisted it, then stomped “very hard” on her foot.When police arrived at the scene to take statements, Benard admitted he’d grabbed the woman, saying, “she should have moved and I have a right to stand up for myself and stand my ground.” He was booked on assault charges and released on $1000 bond.
