Fans call Pitbull “Mr. Worldwide” — and now the directors of the Songwriters Hall of Fame just made it official.
Pit is the first person to be named a Global Ambassador for the Hall, which has honored dozens of legendary writers, from Elton John to Stevie Wonder to Jon Bon Jovi. The folks behind the group say the award, which won’t be presented every year, “was created to celebrate a songwriter whose music has true worldwide appeal, crossing genre, cultural and national boundaries.”
Pitbull and the year’s other honorees, including Max Martin and Jay-Z, will pick up their awards in New York City on June 15th.
