Situation 805: My teenage daughter has attempted to take her own life TWICE because of bullying. Her school hasn’t…”

Hi sandy and Ewrek ! I was listening to you guys yesterday. And you guys talked about the young boy Keaton Jones who’s been a victim of bullying. Well, I am going through the same thing with my teen daughter. My daughter is currently still a victim of bullying. Another student took a picture of my daughter while she was changing and getting ready to go to her P.E. class. That picture was shared to other students. It took several days for the principle to even acknowledge the problem. By the time the principle and the school administration did anything… the student that took the picture had time to erase it from her phone and deny she had any involvement. I was so upset that they took so long to address it. I have asked repeated times for either the other student or for my daughter to be switched classes so they aren’t in the same class they said no. They said they don’t want to make the other student uncomfortable by switching here… so they are basically accommodating the other student even though she’s the one who is being the bully. It gets worse… the other girl has now started to threaten my daughter telling her that she knows many gang members and they are going to beat her up. As a parent I am feeling frustrated and the school has not shown any compassion or any possible solution to solve this problem. I’ve requested to possibly have a meeting with the parents of the other student and the school told me no. I went to the school and the school board and they aren’t doing anything about it either. Even employees from the own school district have said the administration is horrible at this particular school. I made a police report and the police told me they couldn’t do anything since the person who took the picture is also a minor. So I went to the city to get a permit to do a march to bring awareness about bullying and they told me that I couldn’t do it! Only way I could do it was paying $255 for a parade permit. I think this is bs why should I have to pay for this when all I’m doing is trying my best to make a difference. It’s gotten soooo bad that My daughter has tried killing her self twice over this! The Lil girl didn’t get in trouble for taking pictures of my daughter changing in the locker room and posting them on social media and the threats have not stopped. Kids should not feel like this!! Kids should feel safe going to school! How can my child or any child who is afraid of going to school possibly be getting a real education if they are too focused on fear. Any parents or anyone out there that can give me some insight PLEASE I need help and advice on what I can do!! City officials, school employees, district employees, teachers, parents, counselors, law enforcement, ANYONE who can help with either advice or ways to solve this, your help is appreciated!
