So my wife one day just got up and left me, and left me to file. I thought she hated me. I was shocked when she came back in tears wanting to see me. Yes, some have said it means her affair or fling failed, but I never found any evidence of such, and I did look while she was with me, and others who know her state they knew nothing. She contacted me, saying I was her best friend, and she wants me back in her life. When I push for more, to rebuild, to start over, she says, “I can’t even go there right now. I need healing. I just want to be friends. I want you in my life.” She keep saying, “day by day” and “day to day” and “no expectations” and “boundaries.” She says that if I pressure her, then she just needs to go back to L.A. She has been texting me and carrying the conversation when we talk on the phone. She sounds genuinely happy to talk to me again. She says flat out she doesn’t want to date anyone, and that she is trying to free herself of all responsibilities, and doesn’t believe in marriage anymore. She keeps saying she has issues that need resolving, that “understanding her is hard” and “she’s not a good person,” etc. I honestly think she had a one night stand or more. I don’t think she was having an affair, and I don’t think I care if she did. I still love her. She knows this. She told me first when she came back that she loved me, “but not in love with me.” She keeps saying she deeply cares about me. When I ask if being friends will be forever, she says, “you never know.” She isn’t giving me really anything to go on, other than friendship. And if I want her back, isn’t that deadly? The friendzone? What does she truly want? An emotional crutch until she finds the right guy? Just a friendship forever? I don’t ever see her as my friend. I see her as my lover and wife.
