Me and my family just moved to a new place with a roommate, its a 3bedroom house. My fiancé, daughter and I occupy one bedroom. The roommate occupies the other. The third is used as a gaming man cave for my fiancé and our roommate. They each pay 1/2 of the rent. I am currently staying home to look after our infant daughter (also a full time college student) and at this time pay no bills. The utilities are split except for the power which is paid fully by my So. Before we found a place for all of us it was agreed that my so and his friend (now roommate ) would split rent evenly 50/50. As I am going to school and taking care of my daughter. Now I also take care of all the cleaning in the house ( including doing roommate laundry). Our roommate is demanding that rent be divided by 3. Because there are three adults living here. This would mean me and my so would pay double for the same amount of space. I think this is unfair but said I would agree but only if we get the third bedroom. He refused. He still insists but my fiancé put his foot down saying it would not be fair and we wouldn’t split the rent in 3 unless i get the room. Am I wrong for feeling that is not fair or is he wrong?
