Hey, good morning to the both of you! So I just broke up with my girl I dated her for about 2 years, everything was good until I felt like I was not appreciated and even felt used to get materialistic things. I did a lot stuff for my ex when she was short on money for bills, or she didn’t have money for certain things I would step up and make her happy, or make it right for her. At some point she stopped saying thank you, and I started feeling like at this point she just expected me to do these things for her. I have to say I never expected anything in return but she never really made any kind of effort to do anything close to what i did for her even something as simple as offering to pay for lunch or dinner. So I started to test her: We stopped going to nice spots to eat, stopped offering to pay for her bills, and she started acting funny. So then I called her out on it, and she responded with how do you want me to be happy if I can’t be with a man who can’t provide or give me the things I want and need. I was like WTF??? Who are you??? It’s crazy to think this is a girl who I was really thinking she might be the one! Not gonna lie, our relationship was good no fights, we had a lot a fun, but I realized it was at the expense of my checkbook. Long story short, after she said that to me I realized she was using me. So I ended the relationship there and then… my question is to the ladies and to the gold diggers out there doing this to men…. is this normal for woman to expect stuff like this from men when dating? And isn’t a relationship supposed to be something that 2 people get into to build together, not just one sided???
