Good morning! My situation is that my boyfriend is getting out of the military soon and he just dropped the news on me that he wants to move back to Wisconsin when he’s finally out. We have been together for 3 years and lived together for 2. Well our plans were to move to the Bay Area. I got offered a really great job opportunity and we both love the city life. But now he switched it up on me and wants to change our plans all of a sudden. I feel it’s selfish of him. I’ve talked to a few of his family members in Wisconsin and they said he had mentioned it to them many months ago. Idk when he was planning on telling me. There’s no way I would ever want to move to Wisconsin (no offense). My whole life is here in California. I love my boyfriend but I refuse to move there. I feel betrayed and lied to. At this point I feel I have to choose between love and my career. He says that if I move out there with him I will love it and get used to living the country life and I won’t have to worry about money. That’s not the point. I studied so I can work and make my own money. We already had plans!! Now he tells me there’s nothing there for him if we move to the bay. I don’t see any other option than to break up unless someone can advise me with another option. I don’t have many people to talk to so I appreciate everyone’s help and advice!
