Good morning guys, I need some roommate advice if you have a few minutes. So I recently moved into an apartment with a guy I found online. He’s been living in the apartment for three years and I’m his second roommate. We split everything and so far it’s been great, except for the fact that two weeks ago a friend of his crashed on the couch for the weekend and basically hasn’t left. He’s apparently in between apartments and jobs and needs a place to crash which I get. I just want to know how long he’s going to be in the middle of our living room without contributing to the apartment. I want to ask my roommate but I feel like he’s the elder statesmen and I’ve only been there for about three months. I’m wondering if you think it’s out of line for me to ask him since I only moved in recently. Also, how long into living together should I be able to let a friend crash on the couch for a few weeks?
