My mother and father split when I was a baby and I rarely saw my father growing up. Now that I have a family of my own, he wants to be a part of my life. On one hand, I want to be a good example for my children and put the past behind me, but on the other, he doesn’t deserve to just show up and expect bygones to be bygones. Part of me feels I need to protect my kids from disappointments. He’d always leave me hanging. He was never there for me, at any of my games, birthdays etc. Am I wrong for denying my children their grandfather?
