I grew up in a very religious family and they can be judgemental of non-christians. My GF and I have been together for a little over a year now. She is from a Hindu family but neither of us is particularly religious. She’s only ever met my family once and I wanted to bring her to have Christmas dinner with them, but my parents say they don’t want her at Christmas dinner because she’s not a Christian. I feel like they’re forcing me to decide between her and them. I don’t think they’re going to be very happy to learn that I choose her. Should I demand they allow her to come? Or tell them I won’t be coming if she can’t come? Or should I just not show up?
