I work for a manufacturing company and have always wanted to work in their design department, but I could only get a job in the manufacturing part of the company. I’ve been here for two years now and it’s been going well. My boss likes me and I think I’m a valuable member of the team. So I recently asked him if he would recommend me for a position in design and ever since then, his attitude towards me has totally changed. I feel like it might have been a mistake to tell him that I don’t want to work in his department and now I’m afraid it’s going to jeopardize my job altogether. Should I not have said anything to my boss? Is there anything I can do to try and mend my relationship with him?
