Hey 95.7 The Beat!! I’m a 40-year-old dad, and I’m having trouble keeping my mouth shut about my 20-year-old son’s girlfriend. She’s cute and all that, which is what I’m thinking he sees in her, but I don’t think my son truly realizes what a manipulative, game-playing user he’s hooked up with…and I think he’s really going to get hurt. Here’s my problem, though. I know he’s 20 and it’s his life to lead, but I still feel like I need to do something to protect him. Is it better to step in and say it’s for his own good, and let him get over being mad at me? Or should I just sit back and watch in horror as the inevitable happens, and then help him clean up the mess afterwards? How do I even start this conversation?
