Good morning 805!! Ok so I want to voice my opinion on costumes… I am a 28 year old woman. I have 2 kids. A 5 year old girl and and a 6 year old boy. They have picked out their costumes already. My son is going to be Spider Man and my daughter is going to be a witch. I am married and my husband has 2 other kids from a previous marriage. A 7 year old and an 8 year old.
So this year we will have his kids with us for Halloween. His ex picked out their kids’ costume. They didn’t really have a say so in it and I think it’s so sad. She picked her kids to dress up as Nipsey Hussle and their daughter is gonna be one of the characters from Game of Thrones. They have both voiced their opinion and told us what they really want to be… which is Iron man and Jojo Siwa (the singer).
So I haven’t told my husband yet but I went out and got them costumes. I want them to have a good time and it isn’t fair if only MY kids get to dress up in what they want. Us as parents sometimes push them to be what we want, but that isn’t fair to them for us adults to steal their joy. Don’t get me wrong, I love Nipsey, but if he didn’t pick to dress up as him you shouldn’t obligate him to be it for clout or for the gram. My question is should I notify their mom on the costume change or just let them enjoy their day and face consequences later, because I already know she is going to be mad. Let’s let kids be kids again! (email your situation to: listeners@957thebeatfm.com)
