Hello guys! I’m writing in because I have an issue with my new boyfriend. So let me start off by saying that we are both proffesionals and make a decent amount of money, so money is not tight. Since the beggining of our relationship I have insisted that we go half on everything so there is no issue there. Long story short we are going on our first weekend getaway to a nearby area so I suggested to get an airbnb. He honestly seemed excited but hesitant at the same time. He asked, “what would happen if we ended up breaking up before then?” which was a big mood killer. It is not like the airbnb is that expensive I could litteraly take a friend if that ended up happening. A few days later I suggested a retaurant to go to and he said it was very nice but seemed super expensive (another mood killer). Later in the day he ended up sending me an outline and breakdown of our expenses. He divided what we were going to pay individually. He said he would book everything and that I would owe him $166.95. I ended up rounding up and just gave him $200. I get that he does spreadsheets for a living because he is in accounting but man if this isn’t a mood killer I don’t know what is! It honestly ruined the vibe and is ruining the romantic weekend I had in mind? It feels like he is sending me an invoice like I am one of his clients with him outlining every cent.
