Three weeks ago, I started a new job working IT for a company and it’s going great. Over the weekend, they had their annual Christmas party, but I couldn’t go because I had a prior thing I was committed to. Now, I get back to work and I’m being hit up to pay my “fair share” for the party. Apparently, the company doesn’t provide it, but instead takes up a collection from everyone so they can still get together and celebrate. I’m being told it would be a good move to cough up the $43 to show I’m “part of the team” and keep the chemistry up. I didn’t go, and am not sure this sounds right? Would you pay the money?
